Welcome
I was born in Tigre, Buenos Aires, on June 5, 1972, on a winter night at 10:22 PM—hence why that’s my favorite number.
I grew up in my mother’s restaurant kitchen and was forced to wait tables, pick parsley, clear tables, light the fire, and much more.
MY STORY
I was born in Tigre, Buenos Aires, on June 5, 1972, on a winter night at 10:22 PM—hence why that’s my favorite number.

I grew up in my mother’s restaurant kitchen and was made to wait tables, pick parsley, clear tables, light the fire, among many other tasks. At 14, I was put in charge of the kitchen. That lasted until I was 18, when I got fed up with the smell of fried food and with women avoiding me… So I decided to study journalism and worked for seven years at the newspaper El Cronista, eventually becoming a music critic. During those seven years, I realized that being a critic didn’t make much sense. How could I criticize musicians if I couldn’t play two notes myself? I quit and decided to travel the world. A motorcycle trip through Latin America, like Che—only solo; almost two years in Africa in a 4×4. I came back a different person. The year between my trips from Argentina and Africa, I spent in Lisbon. That’s when I fell back in love with cooking, following instincts instead of chasing opportunities.
And just like that, more than two decades have gone by in Portuguese lands…
At the moment, I’m the executive chef of the restaurants La Panamericana by Chakall, Luz by Chakall, and L’Origine by Chakall in Lisbon; Areal Beach Bar by Chakall and West 23 by Chakall in Lourinhã; La Susy by Chakall in Vila Nova de Gaia; and Zapata by Chakall in Porto. I’m also the executive chef of Fuel by Chakall, and a consultant at Prime Beach Club in Monte Gordo, in the Algarve.
I’m the head and executive chef of Cozinha Divina Catering, and an ambassador for several brands and products both nationally and internationally. I’ve created various TV shows, in Portugal as well as in China, Germany, and Latin America, and I’m the author of several books published in multiple countries and languages.
My greatest pride (and safe haven!) is my family. I love music, traveling, photography, and… writing, when I have the time!
